So, in 2014, we decided to do a working holiday around South Africa. It was the trip of a lifetime and every year we reminisce about it and how, if we won the Lotto that would be the first thing we would do with the money.
We might have had to work a bit (we took videos and photos to turn into training for the travel industry), but we really found that travelling agreed with us. We felt completely different on the road. We felt relaxed and more like the people we were meant to be.
We got to meet amazing people along the way and were spoilt by travel agents (who managed to get us special discounts) when we weren’t camping and having meat off the braai every night.
It was the first time I’d ever seen the flowers in the Namaqua National Park, eaten the biggest oysters of my life, sat on an ostrich and a few other things (in blog posts to come). We found ourselves travelling around the most beautiful country that we’ve ever travelled through and getting to do some crazy amazing things on the way as well.
It feels like it was just yesterday that we were woken up super early by the sunrise over our tent. Although it’s been just over 3 years since our trip (and my memory is terrible), I still remember the main highlights that really made our journey. That is why we’ve both decided that we need to write a few blog posts about it – maybe even turn it into a series. We’ve definitely got enough pictures/videos to go around and more than enough to say about it.
For now though, I’ve added a few photos below to wet your appetites! 🙂
